The 787s have a bit more humidity in the cabin, however that benefit can vary depending on how the captain has the air system in the cabin set. But the rest of the comfort equation has to do in large part of how the cabin is configured, how much pitch, seat type, seat width, etc.

United Airlines has five different layouts for its premium economy seats, ranging from 17.1 inches width and 35 inches pitch (Boeing 777-200) to 19 inches width and 38 inches pitch on all Boeing 787 models. This plane features 28-32 lie-flat United First seats, 102-124 Economy-plus seats, and 206-234 Economy seats. All United First seats have in-flight entertainment screens and at-seat power. The United First seats are the same lie-flat "coffins" that were used on international 777 flights prior to the introduction of the Polaris seats.Seats throughout Economy in this 777-200 are horrible. Bad cushioning, very small legroom. Not indicated for a 12-hour flight from Narita, or for anything longer than 3 hours. The difference between the outbound flight operated by JAL and this one was striking. So, JAL will be my choice for future flights to Japan.
