We don't know how it will be in SXM, or if we want to spend $$$$ if it's going to be stressful. That doesn't sound like a good vacation. SXM did release their 5 phase to reopen plan. Basically most everything opens June 1st, on June 15th Everything is open. Stay in SXM whenever. It's really not that big of a deal. Anguilla is overwhelmingly the better of the two locations but it's fun to explore new places and try new things. We stayed in SXM for the last days of our vacation and I don't regret it. It made the travel home MUCH easier and MUCH shorter, especially being with a 4 year old.

4. Re: Taxi information for St. Maarten. It is town to town and ranges from about $10 to $50 depending on where you're going. There is an official chart you can ask to see in the cab, but just ask the price before heading off and you'll be fine.

With checked bags, one of two things will happen: (1) Ideal world, there is an AAS rep meeting the incoming flight.

We went through regular security on Sundays in May/June, and while the line was long it was calm and you made steady progress; it took about 30-45 mins to be through and into the food court. Note that if you fly AAS over from Anguilla to SXM, *and* you're not checking bags, there is a separate connecting-flight transfer line that is quick.

In theory you might be able to get the test done on SBH, then fly to SXM the next day (with EHAS approvals) and to the US the day after (with US approvals,) but the flow needs to be perfect.
