If you want to store things on drives digitally use import buses if you want applied energistics to see other inventories use storage ones. If you want a large storage system with auto-crafting and all the good stuff, Applied Energistics 2 is better because it won't lag out the server on everyone when doing ultra fast auto-crafting on a massive system with hundreds of drives and a network spanning 10-20 chunks.
