8N Ford Tractor Hydraulics Problem. I am working on a 1950 8N. I had been using it to dig post holes with a 3-point mounted auger. The auger would settle quickly (in a couple of minutes) once the PTO was disengaged. But it got to the point where it wouldn't even raise it up out of the hole. Hence I decided to overhaul it.There was a change made in 1951 to the rock shaft arm. Its. more beefed up. You can see this on the top of the arm it was. more flat on top instead of oval.
