The Super "M" has a stronger transmission [ stronger bull gears and axles], 10 hp more 264 cubic inch. The brakes are a dead give away , there is no debating on the differance.

The guy that purchased it at my sale owned the tractor for about 40 years. He died and his wife sold me the tractor.The Super Cs have disk brakes like there bigger brothers, the S-H and S-M. the later ones most likely had all coil ignitions. allthough our 52 SC has a mag? seems like 51 or 52 was the end of the mags on all our other tractors. i didn't realize the odler Cs didnt have a water pump. and i know the Super Cs have the same gen belt as an MD.

The M has 248 cu. in, and the 300 has 169.What I did to combat the difference in carburetor inlet size vs. air intake pipe from the air cleaner was I used the original diameter hose from the H carburetor, and used that as a spacer sleeve on the intake pipe. I then used the larger Super H/M carburetor to pipe hose over that, and it works just fine with two clamps.

The cub centers take a 1/2 carriage bolt. The A-140 takes 5/8 carriage for the weights. So if you put the A-140 weight on the cub you are using 1/2 bolts, which probably are ok, but the engineers at IH were more comfortable with 5/8.
