Previously I was running WICO > ICOW > WICO/ICOW Patch Now I am running ICOW > WICO > WICO/ICOW patch and the blackfaces are gone, so far. I suppose this means that the game was expecting WICO facegen values, but was being supplied with ICOW facegen values at the last stage, causing the blackface. Modifying packages didn't have an effect.

Jul 4, 2019 · black face is caused by a miss match between files in the folders meshes/facegendata and textures/facegendata. eg. your assets in the meshes folder is looking for different assets in the textures. same file names but different origins. Ctrl F4 can destroy your whole facegen data. pm me for 100% fix.
