I use vickymod any time I play, except for converted games (and am working on that too). The new starting map is much more interesting. The infamy tweaks make uncivs actually fun to play. The scramble for Africa is both faster and in two stages so it's more fun. The added events and decisions add depth to the game.

The announcement says CO, the developer of Cities Skylines will reveal a game which is probably CS2. Harebrained Schemes are "bringing storytelling home" so maybe a new RPG or a Shadowrun sequel. The core mechanics of earlier Paradox strategy releases was restricted by technological limitations. But as more and more flagship games have been released, many Paradox games, EU4, HoI4 and I:R included, have failed to innovate on mechanics, and instead create a simple illusion of numbers and colours, rather than a dymanic and engaging world.
