Brand New Oversized Tires on MYP, Much better ride. Got the tires below put on this morning. Almost night and day difference in ride quality and the tire actually has a lip now to prevent curb rash. We purchased rhe MYP due to lack of availability of the LR. I would do LR next time. I don’t think Tesla has demos of non speed limited MYP/in chill mode. In chill mode that extreme acceleration is off. To experience the MYP acceleration, which is insane, you would have to borrow a persons vehicle.Oct 1, 2021. #1. Model Y owners have located, installed four 21" Uberturbine wheels of the same size however these need to be the rear 21" wheels and tires. The load index rating of the 21" front wheels and tires is too low to be used in the rear. The rear wheels and tires can be used front and rear. TSportline sells aftermarket wheels for Tesla vehicles.

Dec 6, 2022. #2. My 2022 MYP made 12/2021 had the same exact noise when new. Noise vanished around 5,000 miles. Other threads in model y forum say this is a sticker on the wheel Which protrudes out and rubs against something. One person took car to tire shop which saw the sticker. Eventually sticker gets shredded.The result is a lot closer to real-world performance, and it resulted in the 'EPA mileage number' dropping about 10%. With no other changes, the MYP went from 303 miles to 285 miles. I'm suspecting that the new number HAD to be used, and of course Tesla likes to put the EPA estimate as the 100% charge equivalent when the battery is new.So theoretically, there should be ~0.5 inches difference in clearance front and back. For road handling design reasons, rhe MYP has negative rear camber causing rhe rear inner tire tread to wear, hence the Mointain Pass adj rear arms can be a solution, but will give up some Porsche style road handling. The fastest way to road trip in a Tesla is actually to drive as fast as you want. The extra charge time is less than the speed gain up to like 90mph.
