Glock 30s vs glock 30sf.
I have owned a gen3 30sf and the 30s at the same time. I sold off the 30sf and still have an carry the 30s. I can't tell much difference if really any in recoil or accuracy. I haven't had any type of issues at all with mine. Its much lighter than the sf model with the slimmer slide. I carry mine in a Galco King-Tuk that also carries my 19 & 26.

It has slightly more felt recoil than the 30 due to lighter slide and thinner grip. I never noticed musch difference with the 36 slide on my 30 (same as 30s). There is no difference in the dimensions of the magazine cavity or mag catch mechanism, the G30 and G30SF use the same mags. The shorter trigger reach of the G30SF grip is noticeable in the photo comparison below (G30 on top and G30SF at bottom):The 30S is certainly accurate enough, but with its lighter, slimmer slide does not seem to have the gilt-edged accuracy of the standard size 30, and kicks more. I strongly suspect that the extreme rigidity of the short, thick barrel/slide assembly is what gives the G30 its phenomenal accuracy, especially for its size and sight radius.
Aug 4, 2011 · After a side-by-side comparison, the Model 30SF really isn't a lot bigger than the Model 39 or Model 36. A little wider than the Model 36 and a bit taller and longer than the Model 39. In addition, the availability of .45ACP vs. .45GAP was a factor in my decision.

They had a 30S and a 30SF in stock so I spent some time deciding which to get. I know I'm going to be tempted to carry this gun so I went with the 30S for the thinner slide. Another customer was carrying a 30SF on him and he said he loved the gun and that he sold a Glock 27 because he didn't like the snappy recoil haha. That really swayed me.

I find that the 21 has a little heavier trigger pull than the 30, which may be a characteristic of this gun only. However, I find them both about equally accurate. I do most of my dryfiring with the 21 because of the heavier trigger pull.
I would say if you want to carry +p loads the 30 or 30sf, If not maybe the 30s would be a good choice. For me it's the 30sf. It is such a smooth good shooting gun I'll take the extra 3ozs and 1/10" extra width of the 30sf. The sf grip is large enough I couldn't see any reason to get the standard G30.Published.
