Got it home, charged the battery, and sure enough, it wouldn't crank the engine over. Did a load test on the battery and it failed. Installed a new battery, same problem: The starter would engage the flywheel and spin the engine about 1/4-1/2 a turn, and then stop turning, as if the battery was dead.
