HAMR is doing well enough so far that I have not switched to other LMGs yet. I use Target-Finder, Grip, Laser-Sight. I might swap Grip out for Silencer. I also use Lightweight. Add a Guardian and some Betties and I can hole-up on some nice spots on some maps. On other non-LMG-friendly maps, I switch out to SMG/AR class.The RPK47, HAMR, and RPK74 come after the god-quintuplet of LMGs as strong mid-points between LMG and AR, able to hold a push less effectively and with more down-time. I've rated the HBAR over the RPK12 due to its better suppression and penetration depth.
