Nov 27, 2010. #1. Redoing my farmall M i purchassed and found some water in my oil so i pulled the head off. The serial stamps the engine to be a Plain old M but someone must of bored it out to a Super M because my piston bore size is 3.999 inches. I need to get a new head gasket but don"t know what to get.A 248 ( M block ) can have " thin wall " sleeves installed which makes it into a 264. A 264 ( super M , 400 block ) can have " thin wall " sleeves installed which makes it a 281. A 248 ( M block ) could be bored up to the parent bore diameter of the 264 block and then putting in thin wall sleeves it would be stepped up a 281.Report to Moderator.
