I have a factory Dana 44. I was wondering how oil it takes? Some say to fill it until it comes out the fill hole. When I went to 6" coils from 4" coils it changes the angle of the pumkin and decreases the amount of oil it can hold. What I learned from all the helpful folks is the D 300 is a gear driven design and uses gear oil (85w90).Suburban is chain driven and uses dextron. I just use the 80w90 from walmart. As far as I know, the D50 and D60 use the same case, so they SHOULD have the same capacity. Be warned though, if your inner axle seals are bad, overfilling will make that obvious.
