If your child could be NMSF then I would think they have high enough scores and grades to where the stats would be good enough to get in anyway. Back in 2019 it was not uncommon for high stat in-state kids to get between $10K-25K a year at Pitt. My S19 did. I haven't seen anything like is since. @TheVulcan kid had all the stats but did not get the Pitt merit, neither did the #2 and #3 kids in my S19's HS class.
