Whitman is smaller than Kenyon College with just about 1,450 students but is more liberal and has strong programs in biology, economics, and environmental science. I agree with @Motherprof. I think the drinking/party reputation is both exaggerated and outdated. There is drinking on every campus, including at Kenyon, but certainly no more there than at any other peer college. Years ago most of the social life was centered around frat parties, but the Greek influence has diminished dramatically over time. The one thing to keep in mind is that the Kenyon campus is very isolated in a rural area.
