After a while the algae stops growing at all. I think the autocrafter is picking the algae without lowering the amount the algae generator thinks it has on it, causing it not to grow more. The OP is describing different problem here. The Auto-Crafter is crafting, but it's not always consuming all materials. I have that with Pulsar Quartz crafting - it uses all materials, except Uranium.
