Tradovate replay and simulation work pretty well and as someone mentioned, it's pretty good about not automatically filling you just bc the target is hit. I will offer this one bit of caution: if you are simulating trading during a low volume session, for example overnight, I would say its not that accurate bc stops get tagged pretty easily overnight vs regular hours.I used tradovate for over a year as my main futures, if it was dependable i would have stayed. I use Sierra Chart and Stage 5 now, it’s cheaper with same style membership and you do not get problems. If you don’t mind learning a new software that takes a while, it is way better. Candles do not lag at all, ever.

As I said I don't use Tradovate, but basic data in CQG data in Ninjatrader is $12 a month, and it provides the main CME instruments, among many others. Either way, you are paying for market data. I suppose similar to the way that Samsung or Apple make phones, but the don't work without a carrier connection, which have separate contracts and fees. Thoughts on Tradovate platform? I checked out their site and disclosures and it says there's no insurance in case of bankruptcy or misappropriation on funds deposited. My inclination is to run in the other direction.
