Ok, so I have to rescind my original comment. I was wrong, and I wasn't aware that the policy changed. After doing some digging, y'all who were saying you can use PPTO on a key date were right. You don't have to use 16 hours though, just enough to cover the shift if you have it available. When PPTO first rolled out the answer was no.

That means putting enough to cover the entirety of the the time missed AFTER you call out to get ZERO POINTS,or putting enough to cover exactly half or more of your scheduled shift to receive HALF a point.
